Fireside Chat: Resident heard "a powerful, primal roar" near Panther Creek State Forest

Last summer I had an occurence while sitting on my front porch during the month of July. July 23rd to be exact. At around 11:30 p.m I heard what I thought to be a mountain lion scream out (not a screech owl, barn owl, crane, etc.) I live near Panther Creek State forest and it is not uncommon for me to see bears, bobcats, coyotes, deer, large owls, etc. on a regular basis.

The reason I was on my porch that late at night was the fact that I was sitting by our fire pit enjoying a fire and working on one of my deer feeders.(I have killed bear, deer, etc. with bow and arrow.) Something had been destroying my feeders and trail cameras in the area.(I assumed it was bears.) At about midnight, I heard a large unknown animal/creature walking through the brush near my trash bin across the road.(Again, I assumed a large bear.) When the "bear" didn't get into my trash cans, I forgot about the noise and went back to working on the deer feeder.

About ten minutes after I heard the loud walking, I then heard what I cannot really put into words but I'll try: I heard a powerful, primal roar that literally "shook" my house. I thought that I was hearing a diesel engine about to blow up but then the "thing" growled. As I set and listen, the "thing" let out another blood curdling scream and another "thing" started answering it from across the hollow. The other "thing" started almost howling/moaning. I've never heard anything like it in my life.

What ever these "things" were, they were extremely huge and not from the woods of WV. I went in the house, locked my doors and got my 40 caliber pistol. I woke my wife up later that night and told her what I heard. To sum it up, we have heard it a few times since then.

Here is the CRAZY twist to this. Two guys show up at my house two weeks later. One man is from Roanoke VA. and the other from Charleston, WV. They tell me that they are investigators for some group an they said that they were in the area researching Sasquatch.(I promise-I'm not making this up.) These men had high-tech equipment, night vision, heat vision, etc. The men played a recording for me and it was the exact same noise I heard two weeks prior. They tell me it's an adult male bigfoot!! Who knows. I didn't see anything that night however it literally scared me stiff. I didn't even hunt this past year because of what I heard.

This is no coincidence that people are asking about this. There may actually be Sasquatch after all.
