Update: "Backyard Bigfoot". Was "Mr. Mike" seeing things?
Christopher Noel reported that his colleague visited "Mr. Mike" on his property and suggested to "Mr. Mike" that he could be seeing things. The report was posted on facebook and now it appears that they have been asksed by Lan Lamphere, host of "Overnight AM," to remove my update until after Monday night's broadcast.
What's going on? Well, we're not sure. We do know that the Private Eye saw something and took some pictures. Was the "Private Eye" seeing and hearing things as well? Maybe we're just too quick to believe people especially when they sound honest and sincere. We've been down this road before and we'll go down this road again. This is what makes it all worth it because the adrenaline and all the excitement comes with it. To "Mr. Mike", hats off to you sir! You've done a good job and we appreciate your honesty.

Overnight AM Radio Hosted by Lan Lamphere Investigates a Bigfoot Sighting
This evening's broadcast of Overnight AM Radio hosted by Lan Lamphere on Talkstreamlive had the show's chat room humming with excitement from Bigfoot researchers and enthusiasts.
A crowd of 40+ people submitted questions and theories as Lamphere intereviewed "Mike" a homeowner who claims a family of Bigfoots has taken residence on the edge of his property.
As Mike talked by phone, we could easily hear traffic in the background and he acknowledged that his property is near "a busy street." The Bigfoot family is apparently hunkered-down in his backyard, in a thicket of bushes and they've been there for nearly three weeks.
Lamphere revealed to Mike that his studio, upon learning of this sighting, had already sent a private investigator to Mike's home within the last few days, to ensure Mike is legit and not crazy. The private investigator found that Mike's personal background "checked-out" and that he's not known to be crazy. The investigator even approached the thicket of bushes and was threatend by a growl. He stepped back and took pictures of what might be three Bigfoots.
Listeners asked to see the photos but none were revealed during the show. Lamphere said more information might eventually be revealed on www.facebook.com/findbigfoot. At the end of the interview Mike agreed to allow one camera on his property this upcoming weekend to film what could be the first Bigfoot family ever spotted in city limits.
Where is This Bigfoot Location?
The location was not revealed, although Lamphere indicated it was in a northern state and some listeners in the chat room claimed Mike had either Minnesota or Wisconsin accent. Both of those states have had recent sightings and I personally have been on expeditions in each of those states. So it's quite possible this BF family is from the Midwest, or could be passing through and have become trapped or threatened by the surrounding traffic.

MR. MIKE BIGFOOT ENCOUNTER – PERSONAL UPDATE
We introduced the story of “Mr. Mike”, who claims that he is experiencing repeated Bigfoot sightings in the backyard of his home, on July 3, 2010 when “Mr. Mike” joined the program and we found ourselves inadvertently making history.
I’ve met with some criticism due to a badly placed headline on my website that the skeptics have already begun using as a means of detracting from my efforts to validate, and verify, the story of ‘Mr. Mike’s’ Bigfoot encounter. I take personal responsibility for that mistake.
The headline on my web site was placed very quickly due to being up against a deadline for the beginning of the show on July 3, 2010. Of course I wanted to grab peoples attention, but not mislead the world. I should have stopped to rethink my words of choice, but I didn’t. I was in a hurry to get on the air as I was running behind and had hardly been able to prep for the show after spending 11 hours on the phone with virtually every person in the field of Bigfoot research, or trying to reach them.
It’s not often that I make apologies on my radio show, or on my web site. Most of the time it is not needed. But this event has quickly become larger than the show. I’ll be the first to admit that when we decided to cover this story on the show that the topic was viewed as a venue to bolster our listening audience because of world wide interest in the subject of Bigfoot. It’s not like we don’t choose to cover the strange and unusual on Overnight AM. The whole radio show was built around, and for, strange and sometimes unprovable subjects and speculation. But then the story became ‘real’ based on our own research, conversations and other historical evidence. It was then that I choose to stop, back up and re-evaluate my position, and my responsibilities to this audience, which frequently happens when hind-site becomes 20/20.
Because ‘Mr. Mike’s Bigfoot encounter began to show signs of being a very real, and scary event, I uncharacteristically re-positioned myself, and the show, in my commitment to discover, and report, the facts rather than focusing on the entertainment. However, It’s not my responsibility to take the position of trying to single handedly save a sacred cow from slaughter if a story doesn’t pan out just the way the audience expects. In fact, I’ll be the first to slam a knife into it and carve myself out a fat steak to chew on.
BFRO
On July 3, 2010 I stated on air inside an interview with “Mr. Mike” that we had plans to send a camera crew to his location and document the events around his home regarding what he calls Bigfoot. I also said that we would not leave the Bigfoot Research Field Organization out of the loop, and welcomed their participation. Since then, some members of the BFRO have become critical of this story, without knowing all of the facts.
It’s for that reason that I have elected to forgo the inclusion of the BFRO in any field research and have turned over the responsibility of hand picking a team of qualified experts to investigate these events to Mr. Bill Birnes (UFO Hunters – History Chanel / Publisher of UFO Magazine/Author).
The Camera Crew
The Camera Crew will consist of one, or more, trained professionals inside of the field of wildlife photography. This is the arena that I’ve had the most inquiry about, and have received the most advice on, over the past seven days via email and phone conversations.
The World Responds
At this time the story of Mr. Mike’s experiences have met with open ridicule and support from opposing factions inside the arena of interested Bigfoot enthusiast. That was expected. I appreciate healthy skepticism just as much as I appreciate healthy interest and enthusiasm. My position has been to establish the credibility of Mr. Mike, and his story, before money, time, effort and energy was spent on what could easily be, or become, a farce or scam not only on me, but on this audience.
I do not enjoy being removed from my postion as a talk show host and forced into the arena of investigator. I said that we would move quickly on this story on July 3, 2010 in Mr. Mike’s first interview on Overnight AM, and I was serious. I just didn’t tell the audience what I had in mind to validate Mr. Mike’s story. I had a story on my hands that couldn’t be confirmed, but had body and form. Sure the story was a great avenue for a Overnight AM show. It was right up my alley. A great entertainment avenue for any listener who was interested in the subject of Bigfoot. But after listening to the show again, and again, and again- I came to the conclusion that Mr. Mike was telling the truth and I decided to act on it. I even went as far to write Bill Birnes a email after seeing that this story was beginning to build more momentum, and that the character assassination of Mr. Mike, myself and anyone else involved, was a real threat. If we were going to do this we had better commit to it 100%. Otherwise we would be placing ourselves in a precarious situation if this story wasn’t investigated and acted upon correctly.
What’s happening now?
Time schedules were rearranged. I’ve slowed the progression of the investigation. Specific people are being sought out with plans to contractually bind them to Security-Nondisclosure Agreements for the protection of Mr. Mike, the creatures (if any) and anyone else involved in this story. A feature length article is being prepared for Overnight AM’s Intrepid Magazine. Right, wrong or indifferent.. the story continues.

Sasquatch language decoded!
One of the most impressive presentations at the Oregon Sasquatch Symposium was R. Scott Nelson's breakdown of the sasquatch language recorded on the what is formally known as the Berry Tapes, but we all are familiar with the name Sierra Sounds.
For those who do not know Scott Nelson, Nelson worked for the Navy intelligence specializing in crypto-linquistics the science of decoding and transcribing hidden language. He specialized in Russian and Spanish. Bottom line he know his business.
For the first time during a presentation Nelson mentioned cognates. Cognates in linguistics are words that have a common etymological origin.
Examples of cognates in Indo-European languages are the words night (English), nuit (French), Nacht (German), nacht (Dutch), nicht (Scots), natt (Swedish, Norwegian), nat (Danish), raat (Urdu), nátt (Faroese), nótt (Icelandic), noc (Czech, Slovak, Polish), ночь, noch (Russian), ноќ, noć (Macedonian), нощ, nosht (Bulgarian), ніч, nich (Ukrainian), ноч, noch/noč (Belarusian), noć (Croatian), ноћ/noć (Serbian), νύξ, nyx (Ancient Greek, νύχτα/nyhta in Modern Greek), nox (Latin), nakt- (Sanskrit), natë (Albanian), noche (Spanish), nos (Welsh), nueche (Asturian), noite (Portuguese and Galician), notte (Italian), nit (Catalan), noapte (Romanian), nakts (Latvian) and naktis (Lithuanian), all meaning "night" and derived from the Proto-Indo-European (PIE) *nókʷts, "night".

He summarized with these conclusions:
1. DEFINITELY NOT HUMAN
Due to hours of listening and beyond human abilty to make. The tempo is too fast and the conversation too quick almost twice as fast as humans
2. DEFINITELY DETECTED LANGUAGE
Isolated 41 different phonemes combined to make morphemems (syllables). There were emoted sounds of intimidation and negation. Too many grammatical keys to be random.
3. TAPES/RECORDINGS NOT FAKE
No deception took place. This guy was trained how to detect the latest Russian deception technology. A faked recording back in 1974 would have been easy to detect.

Ape canyon is a place described by Native American Indians as pure Bigfoot territory
This is a must watch video. It is based on a true story and has been acted out but very good. What I like about this exploration is that they went to Ape Canyon deep in the mountains. Ape canyon is a place described by Native American Indians as pure Bigfoot territory. The Sasquatches mark the boundaries of Ape Canyon by snapping huge thick trees in half ten feet off the ground. You can see clearly it will take great strength and height to reach these trees. The trees are broken and left connected but splintered as a sign that is their territory. Many sightings have occured in that area. I find that very interesting.
I really love these shows from the 1970's. They have a great appeal and earthy real feeling.

MOUNTAIN MAN FIGHTS BIGFOOT
North Carolina “Mountain Man” Tim Peeler says he saw Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot, and he has local law enforcement backing up his story.
“This thing was 10-foot tall. He had beautiful hair,” Peeler told Charlotte’s WCNC, also noting that the beast’s color of hair was blond. He added: “He looked like he had six fingers on each hand.”

Peeler made the incredible encounter near South Mountains State park while he was using a game call to find coyote. That’s when he says Bigfoot was lured by the call.
“I come out here and rough-talked him and got him to run off,” Peeler said. “I said ‘Get away from here. Get.’” He demonstrated how he brazenly scared off the beast using a long stick.

Peeler called 911 and when a deputy arrived, he too saw Bigfoot.

Bigfoot has been spotted in the North Carolina mountains since the 1970’s.

Bigfoot Fails DNA and Bigfoot, Himself, Remain Elusive
Contaminated DNA sample or DNA fakery?
Recently, news about the existence of Bigfoot, a half-ape, half-human mythical creature, resurfaced. This time, the people who testify the existence of the creature have Bigfoot DNA samples with them. According to them, the Bigfoot DNA samples were taken from the dead body of the creature found lying in the forests of northern Georgia.
They even presented three blurry pictures of the creature placed inside a container resembling a refrigerator. However, they did not disclose the exact location where they took the picture and where they stored the dead body of the alleged creature, saying that they were protecting it from possible harms. They have resolved that the elusive Bigfoot is no more elusive and that it really exists. And so, that was their story.
However, science tells us that they are wrong. The two Bigfoot DNA samples they secured were tested and analyzed by a scientist in California. And the result – one was a DNA sample from a human, and the other one was from a forest mammal (the size of a cat) called opossum. With that said, the alleged Bigfoot DNA samples are no less than an attempt to make a stir in the media.

Canadian Researcher Snaps Sasquatch in Vancouver
Photograph as taken near Pitt Lake in Vancouver. Randy Brisson and his son Ray found big tracks on the snow along a hauling road. Small footprints suggest there was a baby Bigfoot near by. Seeing the adult footprints with smaller footprints lead the researcher to believe that this could be a breeding ground for Bigfoot. Brisson assured his colleagues this photo is the legendary Bigfoot.

Bigfoot / Sasquatch Sighting Near Mt. St. Helens Washington
I was in that area a few days ago. The wilderness and thick brushes in the area is perfect habitat for animals such as these.
Video shows some people messing around with boulders, and spotted a creature running off into the distance behind the trees. Seems they scare the living daylights out of him.
Film is a little shaky at first, but picture came out sharp towards the end of the clip. Enough for us to get a good shot of the creature.

Hunter Spots Bigfoot In Pennsylvania Woods
News story of a man hunting north of Pittsburgh said his camera captured images of baby bigfoot.
Looks like an escaped chimpanzee to me. The local zoo there did not immediately return our call.

Clip was previewed at Sylvanic.com. It's part of a mini documentary named "Origins of Sylvanic", an attempt to promote species awareness in order to protect these "human-like primates".
